It’s another busy week. I have some other pieces that I’m working on for later in the week and I’m working on the latest episode of It All Comes Back to Superman and work has been a bear. Plus I’m starting to work on something big for July, so I don’t have anything complicated for this week’s edition of World’s Finest Wednesday.
(I don’t know what I would do without all of these house ads on my hard drive.)
(To be fair, there are worse things to have on your hard drive.)
(Like, I don’t think Olivia Benson is ever going to kick in my door because of the house ads.)
Anyway…

Cast your mind back to a time when a team-up between Superman and Batman was rare. Rare enough that it happened in a three issue prestige format series with the power house creative team of Dave Gibbons, Steve Rude, and Karl Kesel.
If memory serves, Jeff and I were hard on this series when we covered it on From Crisis to Crisis. I wonder if I would feel that way now. Looking at this ad, I get lost in the nostalgia of the summer of 1990. That was the summer that I discovered They Might Be Giants through my older sisters. There was a really awesome Adventures of Superman Annual that had a team-up with L.E.G.I.O.N. Lois and Clark’s relationship was heating up. Jerry White died. I was all excited for The Flash series that was going to premiere that fall.
And there was also this mini-series, which saw Batman and Superman teaming up during a time when their Facebook profiles would describe their relationship as, “It’s Complicated.”
I need to re-read this at some point.
I need to re-read a lot of things again, but this needs to be moved higher on the list.
More to follow…
